Alzheimer’s toll on the brain’s language center makes it difficult to communicate.  That doesn’t mean their mental capacity is gone, says Erin Bonitto.

“There’s often a lot of healthy brain in there,” she says. “[Individual strengths] always remain long into the disease process.”

Professional caregivers are now learning how to tap into that “something,” Bonitto says.
